The fine print
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 11, 2026
The short version
We collect as little as possible. No advertising trackers, no tracking cookies, no user accounts — just privacy-respecting, cookie-less page-view counts. That's also why you don't see a cookie banner here — there's nothing to consent to.
Tools run in your browser
Our interactive tools (visa-free checker, eSIM picker, payment setup wizard) process your selections — nationality, trip length, cards, phone type — entirely in your browser. These inputs are never transmitted to us. The payment checklist saves your progress in your browser's localStorage so it survives a reload; that data stays on your device and you can clear it anytime via your browser settings.
What we do process
Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes standard technical request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL — to deliver pages and protect against abuse, as any web host does. We do not use this to identify or profile you. We also run Vercel Web Analytics, a cookie-less, privacy-respecting service that counts page views in aggregate only: it sets no tracking cookies and builds no profile of you, which is why there is nothing here to consent to. If we ever change how we handle analytics, we'll update this policy.
External links
Links to third-party services (eSIM providers, booking platforms, official government sites) lead to sites with their own privacy policies. Once you leave readysetchina.com, their rules apply.
Email: the pre-departure checklist
If you sign up for our pre-departure checklist emails, we collect exactly one thing: your email address. Signup is double opt-in — nothing is stored anywhere until you click the confirmation link we send you. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link that works instantly. Confirmed addresses are stored with our email delivery provider (Resend, US-based) and nowhere else; we never sell or share them. Unsubscribing stops all emails; if you also want your address fully deleted from the provider, email us and we'll do it promptly.
Purchases and delivery emails
Paid products are processed by Creem, our merchant of record — payment details go to Creem under their privacy policy and never touch our servers. If you ask us to email you a purchased dossier, the address is used for that single delivery and is not stored, subscribed or added to any list. Generated dossiers are kept under an unguessable purchase reference so your link keeps working; they contain your trip plan, not your identity.
Your rights
Beyond an email address you chose to give us and transient server logs, we hold no personal data — so there's usually little to access or delete. For any privacy question or request (including deleting your email address), contact us and we'll respond promptly.
